My Approach To Transformation Coaching
My Coaching Purpose
Having centered my career around being an agent of change. I am deeply committed to the agile mindset of relentless improvement. As a result, I have spent the past 10 years of my agile journey in self-study, and collaborative exploration to develop a deep understanding of what it means to be a ‘true coach’, as well as an agilist. With over 20 years’ experience in working with technology organizations I can confidently say that I love what I do. I derive great satisfaction from coaching organizations, business units and teams to develop the capability to respond to new realities, increase efficiencies and ultimately drive value. The opportunity to collaborate with technologists, and business leadership at all layers brings me joy, and satiates my need for complex problem solving, thereby increasing my own capability to deliver value in response to changing realities.

Influencing change at all Layers

Leadership based on Shared Mutual Respect
My coaching style is founded upon the facilitation of bi-directional respect as a shared group culture. I facilitate the levels of psychological safety that are necessary for technology teams to take the risks required to support the rapidly changing technology landscape. As a result, I deploy safety as a tool to create the trust required to surface and desensitize areas for improvement. As a team level coach, I empower scrum masters to adopt a similar mindset and continuously evolve new approaches to accelerate team growth. As a product coach, I work with product owners and managers to coach them towards better methods and practices in support of good housekeeping within their backlog and product roadmap.


Agile Communities of Practices
In my next role, I am looking to embed myself within a tight knit Agile Community of Practice (CoP). I thrive in environments where I can coach and be coached by other coaches, exchanging the advice and guidance in support of incremental maturity of live delivery environments. I enjoy examining other coaches “chess boards” to explore alternative approaches to coaching complex problems that have a broad impact on the business. The true power of any Agile COE is the total sum of its members broad agile methodology experience.
